This beautiful cedar cabin is located on a one acre wooded lot in Arrowhead Subdivision in the heart of the San Juan Mountain Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 9300 feet. All utilities are underground so none of the fantastic views are marred by power lines. The home rests in a clearing at the center of the lot in order to maximize views. The rest of the property is set in a combination of majestic dark timber and quaking aspen. There are two Master Suites, each with attached full bath. The completely furnished kitchen and dining room includes pots, pans, standard small appliances and table service for four. All bed and bath linens, hand soaps and sanitizer are provided, so just bring your groceries and personal care items, such as bath soap and shampoo, to complete your home-away-from-home experience! Beds are wonderfully comfy and each queen-sized master suite is separated from the other, providing both privacy and an enhanced sense of solitude for our guests. There is also a queen-sized bed in the spacious loft with great views of the San Juan Mountains. The fireplace in the great room adds both warmth and gracious ambiance. This is a double A-Frame cozy cabin with a great deck. There are 1800 plus square feet to call home for your escape. The large great room opens into the dining room and kitchen with many windows to allow for great views of the outdoors. The master bedroom is in the loft with a queen bed and full-size futon. There is a star gazing window over the queen bed in the loft which is very relaxing before you retire at night. The large main floor bedroom has a queen bed with a twin over full size bunk bed. There is a full bath on each floor. The laundry room with washer and dryer is on main floor for your use. A TV with a DVD player in the great room allows you to enjoy your favorite shows during your down time. Arrowhead Ranch is a wonderful area and part of the San Juan Mountains. The turn off to Arrowhead is half way between Gunnison and Montrose on Highway 50. You will have access to multiple day trips including: Ouray, Telluride, Lake City, Ridgeway, Silverton, Wine country and orchards toward Palisade, Black Canyon, Marrow Boat Tours in the canyon and Blue Mesa Lake. One of our favorite spots is Big Blue Campground south of Arrowhead, this location has a great campground with beaver ponds and the Big Blue River for fishing. Arrowhead is a great location for those interested in hiking, biking, four-wheeling, fishing, watching wildlife and relaxing! The A-frame will give you all you need to unwind and recharge. The large deck allows you to enjoy the beautiful relaxing outdoors. Many sightings of wildlife are possible if you are quiet! We enjoy the deer most every morning and evening as we watch out the dining room windows. Early in the summer we often watch the baby fawns follow their mothers as they walk by the cabin. They are often playful and fun to watch. At certain times of the year you can see elk but you can always hear them in the fall. Many birds from turkeys to grouse visit along with the humming birds. Occasionally a snow shoe rabbit or red fox with slip by. Rarely we see a bear. Views on the deck are great down the valley. A good book on the hammock is a great way to spend your afternoon. Grill that perfect steak with you favorite wine on the deck for a perfect evening after a fun filled day! Sunsets on the deck following dinner are the best. Smores over the fire pit are also a good way to spend your evening relaxing after a full day of the outdoors. We enjoy the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge for the outdoor entertainment they have most weekends and the restaurant which is very good. If you are a fisherman there are lakes available to Arrowhead residents to fish without a license. Hazel Lake is just across the road from the cabin and a great hike. This is another great spot to enjoy the wildlife. You can safely hike or bike the many miles of roads around Arrowhead and there are several trails available. This get-away from "life" is the best way to recharge with the fresh mountain air. We enjoy the spring each year but fall is special with all the wonderful colors! Come and Enjoy!

The cabin and surrounding mountains are filled with fall colors of gold, orange, and red leaves on all the Aspen trees. This is a must see! In Winter, this place is a winter wonderland and an amazing place to snow shoe, cross country ski, or snow mobile. Property: This beautiful real log cabin will give you a true sense of the Colorado Cabin experience located in the Arrowhead Mountain area of the San Juan Mountains. The cabin is on 1 acre of land at an altitude of approx. 9,400 ft. The cabin is approx. 1,400 sq. ft. and very spacious with lots of deck space and porch furniture to hang out on. The front porch even has a swing! Guest Access: Guests have access to various hiking trails, Black Canyon, Blue Mesa Reservoir where you can go boating, and Gunnison/Montrose areas. Black Canyon is approx. a 50 minute drive from the cabin where you can explore and hike the canyon. Blue Mesa Reservoir is approx. a 30 minute drive where you can rent boats and fish. The winter parking lot is 0.8 miles from my cabin. The cabin manual provided has a map of where to park your vehicle and trail to take to my cabin. Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowmobiling Wireless internet connection is available at the Inn at Arrowhead (about 1.7miles from the cabin). We suggest sitting on their deck with a nice beverage and using their guest sign in to check your emails etc... Cell phone coverage is spotty at best. AT&T seems to work some, especially from the south west corner of the deck.... but hey aren't you looking forward to getting away from all that! We do have a land line at the cabin for safety.

There are 2 comfortable bedrooms (one king and one queen) on the main floor and a spacious master king suite and additional cozy queen bedroom on the second floor plus a fun loft with 3 twin beds that will excite the young or young at heart in your group. Each level has sitting areas for your down time. If you and yours are staying in the lodge for the day there are two TVs, DVDs, CDs and family games to entertain everyone. A newly converted garage hosts a billiards table, a bar and makes for a great space to hang out and play an old fashioned checker game. Laze around on the spacious deck and enjoy the peace and quiet that a mountain retreat offers. You'll find a great blend of modern conveniences and mountain living throughout. The fully equipped kitchen has just about anything you'll need if cooking up some great meals is in your plan. Electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, and many small appliances. There are small lakes on the Arrowhead property for fishing or for the more serious angler there is world class fly fishing only a short drive away. The Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado's largest reservoir and offers boating, sailing, fishing, water skiing and wind surfing. Some great golf courses in Montrose, Gunnison, Ridgeway and Crested Butte are available for the golfers in the group. If you are bringing an ATV with you there are some trails for four wheeling. A beautiful drive to historic Lake City is a great way to spend an afternoon. The Black Canyon National Park offers spectacular views and is just a short drive away. Take in some scenic hiking and biking before returning for the evening horseshoe game, roaring campfire and traditional marshmallow roasting. At the end of your long day of sightseeing relax in the hot tub while gazing up at a million stars. There are no retail stores within 45 minutes of Arrowhead. If you are coming for a stay it would be a good idea to stock up on your wants and needs before heading up. Check in is at 4pm and checkout is at 10 am. If you intend to bring off road vehicles during your stay please be aware that the speed limit in the Arrowhead Subdivision is 20 MPH and must be adhered to. There is a $500.00 fine imposed on us if we do get complaints and that fee will be passed along to the guests who are not respectful of the rules. This is a quaint little treehouse with two hammocks and two small beds. The two beds can be pushed together to make one. My daughters and I built this a couple of years ago. Spared no expense.
